The English Cocker Spaniel is a “gun dog” breed. The English Cocker Spaniel is an active, good-natured, sporting dog that is compactly built and has a very happy disposition.
There are “field” or “working” cockers and “show” cockers. Mine are the “field bred” that love to flush and retrieve. It is one of several varieties of spaniel and somewhat resembles its American cousin, the American Cocker Spaniel.
They are good hunters and great companion dogs for people who can give them the exercise they need. English Cockers come in a variety of colors.

On January 27th we made a three hour drive down to McRae to pick up our chosen English cocker spaniel. She is such a wonderful dog! Extremely high energy, very intelligent, willing to please and so affectionate. Mr. Knowles is a very kind man, answered all of our calls and questions, and put aside our chosen pup a few weeks in advance. Beautiful farmland, clean well-kept kennels. Highly recommend this breeder if you’re looking for a wonderful and active companion or a working spaniel.

I got my English cocker spaniel Sadie from Carey about a month ago and she has been amazing! She loved her crate and didn’t cry in it from the first day we got her and she has a calm and sweet temperament. It really shows that she was raised well at Carey’s farm. We purchased an English Cocker Spaniel from Carey. Carey was very easy to work with. We paid a little extra to have the pup delivered to us. She is absolutely wonderful. She is affectionate and bashful, just as Carey described her personality. I highly recommend this breeder. She’s healthy and so sweet. She does not nervously urinate like some Cocker Spaniels do.
